Marie Osmond's Son Commits Suicide2010-02-28
Marie Osmond's son Michael Blosil committed suicide by jumping from his L.A. apartment building around 9pm Friday night.
Entertainment Tonight confirmed the sad news through Osmond family members, including Marie's brother Donny. "Please pray for my sister and her family," Donny said. Update: a rep for Marie Osmond released the following statement to UsMagazine.com Saturday afternoon:"My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time."
In his late teens, Michael was one of eight children, and reportedly suffered "severe depression" throughout his life. The troubled young man left a despondent note explaining his decision to take his own life, ET reports. He entered a rehab facility at age 16 in 2007.
Marie and Donny Osmond's Las Vegas show was canceled for Saturday night.
