Betty tries to avoid thinking about her problems with boyfriend Henry
and focuses on helping Daniel in the annual Mode benefit event but
suddenly encounters the new sandwich cart employee, Gio, who both
fascinates her and challenges her to follow her dreams. Henry has to
face ex-girlfriend Charlie after finding shocking news about her
pregnancy. Wilhelmina finds new ways to drag Alexis back to her side.
Ignacio is in Mexico facing a deadly threat from his past while Marc
and Amanda plan new ways to publicly promote Amanda as Fey Sommer's
daughter.

When the entire memory of Mode's computer network is erased, the staff scramble to remake the issue before the deadline.

Encouraged by both Gio and Henry, Betty accepts her first writing assignment and ends up researching picking up artist techniques. Daniel is fascinated with a new woman, Renee, who is more related to him than he is aware. Amanda continues her search for her father. Claire is determined to start a new magazine against the will of her children. Henry tells Betty how he feels about Gio and Betty has to make a decision about it.
